The ID Project

01How do I choose the right report?

Start with the decision, not the market name. A procurement manager benchmarking supplier pricing and a corporate development team sizing an acquisition target will need different documents about the same market. Once you know the decision, three things separate a useful study from an expensive one.

The base year and publication date. A forecast is only as good as the year it is anchored to. Check both, and be sceptical of a study published recently but built on a base year two or three cycles old.

Segmentation depth. Top line market size is rarely the answer. What matters is whether the study breaks the market down along the axis you actually buy or sell on: by application, by capacity band, by end use, by region.

Methodology. Look for a stated approach, a documented base year build, and evidence that primary interviews were genuinely conducted rather than implied. We review this before a publisher joins the catalogue, and you can read the criteria on our research partners page.

02What is included in a syndicated report?

Contents vary by publisher, but most syndicated studies in this catalogue contain market sizing with a stated base year, forecasts split by segment and region, competitive landscape and company profiles, pricing and supply chain analysis, and a methodology statement. Page counts, regional coverage and segmentation are listed individually on every report page, along with the full table of contents.

What a syndicated study is not is a bespoke answer to your specific question. It is written for a market, not for you. If the catalogue does not answer the question you are holding, custom research usually will, and scoping it costs nothing.

03Can I see a sample before buying?

Yes, on every title. A sample typically includes the table of contents, the list of exhibits, the methodology section and one or two representative pages of analysis. That is normally enough to tell whether the segmentation matches your question. Samples are sent by email, at no cost, with no obligation to purchase.

04Which licence do I need?

LicenceWho it coversTypical use
Single userOne named individualA single analyst or manager working on one decision
Multi user / siteA defined team or officeA department sharing findings internally
EnterpriseThe whole organisationInternal redistribution across sites and subsidiaries

Licence terms are set by the publisher, not by us, and the exact permissions for each title are shown in plain language on its report page. If you are unsure which one your intended use requires, ask before you buy rather than after.

How we handle stale research

If a study is materially out of date for a fast moving segment, we flag it rather than take the order. If the better answer is a competitor’s report, we will say so. That policy costs us orders and keeps the catalogue worth searching.

05Frequently asked questions

How current are the reports in this catalogue?

Every listing shows its publication date and base year on the card above, before you click through. We flag studies more than two years old in fast moving segments rather than presenting them as current, and an analyst will suggest a newer alternative or a custom study where one is warranted.

Do you sell the reports you publish yourself?

No. The ID Project licenses and distributes syndicated research from independent publishers. Every title lists its publisher. Where we commission bespoke work, it is delivered as custom research and is not resold to anyone else.

How quickly is a report delivered after purchase?

Digital delivery is normally immediate to same business day, depending on the publisher's fulfilment process. Enterprise licences and hard copy formats, where offered, take longer. Delivery terms are stated on each report page.

Can I buy a single chapter or section instead of the full report?

Some publishers offer section level purchase and some do not. If a title supports it, the option appears on its report page. Where it does not, an analyst can often find a narrower study that covers the same ground for less.

What if the report does not answer my question after I buy it?

Read the sample first, which is why we send it free. Syndicated research is generally non returnable once delivered, since it is a digital document, and our terms set this out plainly. If a study is materially misrepresented against its own description, contact us and we will take it up with the publisher.
