Deepen & Share Your Practice
IDP’s Training Programs integrate traditional teachings in contemplation, ethics, and wisdom to help you create a harmonious life for yourself and others. Incorporating multi-lineage practices, western psychology, and practical philosophy, we help everyone live in balance with our complex and interdependent world.
As a multi-lineage center, our unique teacher training programs enable students of many traditions to learn to offer meditation and mindfulness to adults and children with integrity and wisdom.
Teacher Training Program
Now in its ninth year, our nine-month 200 hour immersive training is among the most highly regarded meditation and mindfulness teacher training programs in the Buddhist tradition. This program is an accredited training program with the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA). Upon completion of this training, you can become an IMTA Certified Mindfulness Teacher, Professional Level (CMT-P). Developed and led by our talented teacher-practitioners, the next training begins 2/22/19. Application deadline is 1/30.
Learn to incorporate the science of compassion, the healing arts of lovingkindness meditation (also known as metta), and the liberating wisdom of the Buddhist tradition into your mindfulness teaching and practice. Develop the qualities needed to successfully offer compassion meditation; self-compassion, loving presence, and wise listening, in a 12 week training with accomplished Buddhist teacher-practitioners. Cultivate your own voice in practice sessions that ready you to integrate kindness, caring, and balance into an approachable and skillful teaching style. Spring program begins April 20.
The Path of Well-Being is a course of study and meditation developed as a training to help you relate to your body and mind with acceptance and openness. Discover a sense of peace and ease in your life which doesn’t depend on eradicating pain, generating pleasant feelings, or creating ideal circumstances. Experienced teachers Dan Cayer and Kimberly Brown will guide you to transform experiences of suffering and stress into openness and self-acceptance. Next program begins in January.
Mindful Kids Program
This intensive training provides educators, therapists, counselors and other youth professionals including parents, with the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to effectively teach mindfulness and compassion techniques to children aged 5-17. Participants will begin by establishing their own personal practice, creating a foundation from which they can confidently offer children mindfulness techniques. Developed and led by child psychologist and mindfulness teacher Dr. Heidi Marben. Next program begins September 2019.
