IDP is happy to host the QTPoC Meditation Group. This monthly community meditation space is specifically for queer & trans people of color (QTPoC), including all Indigenous LGBTQ2IA+ persons as we respect that we are meeting on Lenape territory.
Each month, we will explore different forms of meditation, including but not limited to mind-body connection, metta (loving-kindness), breath awareness, walking meditation (with seated movement options), sound healing, writing meditation, & traditional seated practice on a floor cushion or chair.
Together we also explore teachings of LGBTQ2IA+ people of color to have a deeper understanding of how mindfulness practice can help us heal from trauma, navigate oppression, and deepen our self-love.
All sessions are intended to be trauma-informed; please let us know if you have specific needs so that we may accommodate them.
The Interdependence Project is a secular space. We may refer to various spiritual teachings in our meditation group, but do not expect anyone to hold particular beliefs or to see the world in any one way.
We are in an elevator building, but please note the bathrooms are not wheelchair-accessible. Please email Maui Villapando for assistance with access. We ask that you do not wear scents to keep the space as scent-free as possible, although the building itself does not have such a policy.
