Often the greatest challenge of meditation practice, especially in an urban environment, is finding the enthusiasm and drive to establish and maintain a regular daily sitting practice. In our hectic lives it can seem difficult or even irresponsible to take the time to sit quietly, even for short periods, when we have work, family, and many other obligations. City practitioners also may suffer from exhaustion, fears, anxieties, and  burnout - which can be alleviated through the cultivation of joy.  This unique class will help you rediscover a sense of joy - the attitude of delight in our and others' experience. Joy is traditionally considered an essential mindstate necessary to reap the benefits of meditation practice, which include qualities of equanimity, discernment, and compassion. Through guided meditation, experiential exercises, mindful movement, inquiry and discussion, talented teacher Leslie Joren Wagner will lead you to explore, revive, and cultivate the joy so essential to maintaining both a regular daily meditation practice and a balanced, satisfying life.

No experience is necessary.  Please wear loose or comfortable clothing. Cushions and chairs are provided. Beginners are welcome.
