Mindfulness Plus Programs
IDP’s Mindfulness Plus Programs integrate traditional trainings in contemplation, ethics, and wisdom to help you create a harmonious life for yourself and others. Incorporating multi-lineage teachings, western psychology, and practical philosophy, Mindfulness Plus retreats and trainings help empower people to live in balance with our complex and interdependent world.
Now in its sixth year, IDP is among the first centers to enable everyone to learn and teach meditation with integrity and depth, regardless of lineage or transmission. Developed and led by founder Ethan Nichtern, the next training will be taught with the assistance of the IDP Faculty. Accepting applications now for 2017!
This new program is designed to introduce the meaning and principles of engaged Buddhism from a multi-lineage and contemporary perspective. This program will explore how personal, social and political identities affect our practice, and how we can improve understanding of how to address issues of social, environmental and economic justice. Designed and led by IDP teacher Jessica Rodrigues, and supported by others in the IDP Faculty.
Developing authentic compassion for ourselves and others requires practice and commitment. In this unique training you’ll learn to build a foundation of genuine self-concern to support your efforts to create harmonious and wise relationships with your family, friends, community, and the world. Designed and led by IDP’s Executive Director Kimberly Brown with other members of the IDP faculty, this six month training will incorporate western psychological techniques with lovingkindness meditation and mindfulness exercises to recognize our deep connection with all beings.
