Sunday March 4,  9:00am - 1:00pm

with Rey Horowitz and David Holness

Our monthly Half-Day Meditation Retreats are designed for new meditators, people who want to sit for a longer period of time without attending a full retreat, and an opportunity for experienced students to cultivate their practice.  We'll have periods of sitting and walking meditation, and time for discussion and Q&A.

Scientific research indicates that practicing meditation regularly has many benefits, including a stress relief, anxiety management, and better concentration and focus. You can read more about this here and here.

Beginners are welcome. Chairs and cushions will be provided.

Rey Horowitz is a graduate of the 2017 Meditation Teacher Training Program, and has been meditating for fifteen years. A high school teacher for two decades, Rey is committed to bringing mindfulness to school teachers and to students to help transform the culture of schools. Additionally, Rey has trained with Mindful Schools and Lineage Project.

IDP offers its events on a sliding scale basis so that everyone can attend, regardless of financial means. This requires that you pay the highest rate you can reasonably afford. If you are a Monthly Member, we suggest you select the middle rate.  Scholarship information is available at the bottom of this page.

IDP strives to meet the financial needs of our community while facing the financial challenges of running a not-for-profit in NYC.  Each of our paid programs grant one Work Study position to a reliable volunteer, and two POC Scholarships which reduce registration to half price for eligible students.  You must apply for these programs at the link below no later than one week before the program begins.
