The Interdependence Project is a unique community. We're a secular Buddhist center committed to the traditional teachings of meditation, compassion, and wise action in the heart of NYC. We offer Buddhist wisdom without spiritual jargon, dogma, or devotion, and are able to reach many who want to be part of the sangha without having to commit to a single lineage or a guru relationship.

Making a year-end contribution in any amount enables us to continue offering regular weekly free Metta and online meditation groups, our monthly workshop for those struggling with physical and emotional pain, and award scholarships to 40% of those who are learning to teach mindfulness to adults and children in our training programs.

Additionally, in 2017 we held monthly Engaged Practice Meetings, led 60+ people in meditation and protest at the Women's March and the Science March, offered the Transforming White Privilege curriculum online, held a workshop on Implicit Bias with Boundless Awareness, LLC, and hosted Bystander Training by the Center for Anti-Violence Education (CAE). We also welcomed teachings with Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, Robina Courtin, Venerable Pannavati and Karla Jackson-Brewer.
