IDP is so glad to welcome dear teacher and friend back to NYC for a weekend retreat.  A steady mind and an open heart are required to make wise and loving decisions for ourselves and others. Ven. Dr. Pannavati has designed this practice-based weekend to support wise action through a deep cultivation of compassion and mindfulness.

As a leader in the vanguard of socially engaged Buddhism, Ven. Dr. Pannavati is uniquely qualified to guide contemporary students with an interest in living harmoniously for the benefit of all beings. The weekend will include periods of meditation, discourse and discussion, and song.

This is an all-levels retreat.  Beginners as well as more experienced are welcome.  No experience with meditation or Buddhism is necessary.

Ven. Dr. Pannavati, former Christian pastor, is co-founder and co-Abbot of Embracing-Simplicity Hermitage in Hendersonville, NC. A black, female Buddhist monk ordained in the Theravada and Mahayana traditions with Vajrayana empowerments and transmission from Roshi Bernie Glassman of Zen Peacemakers, she is both contemplative and empowered for compassionate service. She recently founded Heartwood Refuge, a multi-lineage retreat center.

Fees
Full Weekend:  $60/$95/$115
Saturday Only: $50/$70/$95
