Our Half-Day Meditation Retreats are designed for new meditators, people who want to sit for a longer period of time without attending a full retreat, and an opportunity for experienced students to cultivate their practice.  We'll have periods of sitting and walking meditation, and time for discussion and Q&A.

Scientific research indicates that practicing meditation regularly has many benefits, including a stress relief, anxiety management, and better concentration and focus. You can read more about this here and here.

Beginners are welcome. Chairs and cushions will be provided.

IDP offers its events on a sliding scale basis so that everyone can attend, regardless of financial means. This requires that you pay the highest rate you can reasonably afford. If you are a Monthly Member, we suggest you select the middle rate.

Scholarship information is available at the bottom of this page.

Kimberly Brown is IDP's Executive Director and also a teacher and a graduate of the 2011 Meditation Teacher Training.  She leads mindfulness and compassion classes, workshops, and retreats for groups and individuals.  Kim studies American and Tibetan Buddhism and practices lovingkindness meditation.  Her teaching methods integrate depth psychology, compassion training, and traditional Buddhist techniques as a means to help everyone reconnect to their inherent clarity and openness. Discover more about Kim and her teaching at her website.
