Online Community Meditation and Discussion
Led by Dan Cayer
First Monday of each month at 8:15 - 9:15 PM EST
Join us on the first Monday of each month as we explore how to live peaceably with imperfect bodies and lofty expectations. IDP teacher Dan Cayer will help you learn to extend mindfulness and inquisitiveness to the present moment, with special awareness to our bodies. Even if pain, discomfort, and/or fear are present, Dan can help you develop a more friendly relationship to your experience. Dan is a meditation teacher and certified Alexander Technique instructor, and he will help you learn to fully inhabit your body - working with posture, difficult emotions, and our busy lives. Engaging in these issues with a sense of humor and bravery, in this community we can help each other cultivate wisdom and compassion to ourselves and feel less separate from our bodies.
This group will include meditation, teachings, experiential exercises, and discussion.
This is a drop-in event, and pre-registration is not necessary. Please use this linkto access our Zoom videoconferencing platform. You can participate on your computer using a web browser, or join us on your mobile device by downloading the Zoom application for Apple or Android/Google.
Dan Cayer is a nationally certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and a graduate of IDP's Meditation Teacher Training. After a serious injury left Dan unable to work or carry out tasks like cleaning dishes, he began studying the Alexander Technique. His return to health, as well as his experience dealing with the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of pain, has inspired him to help others. Dan now teaches the Alexander Technique as a method of recovering balance and well-being. He advocates it as a fantastic embodiment of mindfulness and awareness both on and off the cushion.
