In this inspiring evening, Zen priest and bestselling author Brad Warner will discuss his new book Don’t Be a Jerk, which paraphrases Dōgen’s Buddhist classic work The Shōbōgenzō: The True Treasury of the Dharma Eye for modern times.  Brad will explain the middle way Dōgen’s teachings describe and will explore his views on a wide range of topics from feminism to reincarnation to the debate between science and religion.

Brad Warner is the author of Don’t Be a Jerk and numerous other titles including Sit Down & Shut Up, Hardcore Zen, and Zen Wrapped in Karma Dipped in Chocolate. A Soto Zen priest, he is a punk bassist, filmmaker, Japanese-monster-movie marketer, and popular blogger based in Los Angeles. Visit him online at www.hardcorezen.info.
