Ziji Art Class with Nuala Clarke
"The Tibetan word for confidence is Ziji. "Zi" means 'shine' or 'glitter', and "Ji" means 'splendor' or 'dignity'...This kind of confidence contains gentleness, because the notion of fear does not arise; sturdiness, because in the state of confidence there is ever-present resourcefulness; and joy because trusting in the heart brings a greater sense of humor."
- Chogyum Trungpa Rinpoche, The Sacred Path of the Warrior
Ziji Art is a 4-week multi-disciplinary workshop focusing on the development and growth of creative practice in our daily lives with an emphasis on interdependence and its importance to making relevant and sincere work.
We will gather as a community of artists to find Ziji, a confidence as innate as the blood flowing in our veins. Using the language of meditation we can integrate our respective art practices with meditation and dharma study. With mindfulness, awareness and embodiment centered art practices we can open up generously to bring about the realization of "bodhichitta", or "awakened mind".
Cost
$60 if you pre-register for all four weeks.$40 for students / unemployed / monthly donors
