Metta, or Lovingkindness Meditation (LKM), is the practice of wishing oneself and others happiness, health, and ease. Based on traditional Buddhist teachings, it has become an increasingly popular practice, as it generates both concentration and a deep understanding of the nature of our connection to ourselves and others. Cultivating compassion and patience towards our experience enables us to build equanimity and courage through the constant and inevitable changing circumstances of life.

Fri, 7/28/2017, 7:30pm - 11:00pm

Our weekly Friday night Metta Meditation Group is celebrating its two year anniversary so we're throwing a party!  Join us for dancing and fun with the IDP community!  We'll provide music and soda and snacks, and you're welcome to BYOB beer and wine.

Please select the red "Register Now" link to RSVP.  No payment is necessary but we want to get an accurate head count so our hard-working volunteers can prepare properly!

No July Meeting Due to Holiday!

Our Engaged Practice Group supports activists and all those committed to a compassionate and just world.  We meet regularly to discuss our individual efforts, our collective endeavors, and share our experiences.  Meetings are peer led, and we'll be considering the many ways we can get involved and support our values, and also share our experiences with each other.   The evening will include guided meditation.

Sat, 8/5/2017, 9:00am - 12:00pm

Learning to become mindful and familiar with our body sensations and paying attention to our physical reactions can help with stress, pain, and self-acceptance. In this monthly workshop with experienced teacher Dan Cayer, you will learn to activate your body's natural relaxation response through practicing simple techniques.
